SUMMER KICKOFF CONTEST 2023

Entry Period:

The Step Up For Ostomy Summer Kickoff Contest (the “Contest” or “Promotion“) is sponsored by Ostomy Canada Society (“Sponsor” or “Ostomy Canada“) and is open between 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET“) on Thursday, July 20, 2023, and 9:00 a.m. ET on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 (the “Entry Period“).

Eligibility:

The Contest is open to all legal residents of Canada at the time of entry. Minors may enter the contest with the consent of a parent or guardian.

Prizes:

Three (3) Main Draw (defined below) prizes are available to be won. The Main Draw consists of three (3) CAD$100 gift cards towards Amazon.ca. Winners will be featured on stepupforostomy.ca and the sponsor’s various media outlets.
The prize must be accepted as awarded, may not be refunded or transferred, and is not convertible to cash. Standard gift card terms and conditions apply. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute all or a portion of a prize with a prize or prizes of equal or greater value for any reason.

How to enter:

Main Draw Entry Method: No purchase is necessary. To enter the Main Draws, visit www.stepupforostomy.ca/summerkickoff2023 (the “Contest Link”) during the Entry Period and follow the instructions to complete and submit an entry form. Only one (1) entry per person/email address is allowed for the Main Draw Entry Method. Multiple entries with the same email address will be removed.

You can enter the Summer Kickoff Contest by joining our fundraising page, which can be found at

1. Visit https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/step-up-for-ostomy-2023 and click “Start Fundraising” to create your profile.

2. Complete your fundraising profile by sharing your story on living with an ostomy. Check out an example page here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/tiffany-shorson-2023

3. Add some updates from Summer 2023 to your page. Ideas include highlights and photos of summer activities featuring you and your ostomy to promote ostomy awareness or living life to the fullest!

4. Share your Just Giving fundraising page with your family and friends and post to your social media! Add the hashtag #stepupforostomy2023.

5. Visit stepupforostomy.ca to enter the contest, completing the form below.

Draw and Winner Selection:

Three (3) winners will be selected, and gift cards will be issued via email on September 1, 2023. The winners will be selected from all eligible entries received—a limit of 1 prize per person.

Please note that photo, video, and story quality will all be taken into consideration. The top 3 winners will be selected by the Ostomy Canada Society’s Step Up For Ostomy Committee.

Ostomy Canada will attempt to contact the winner via email. Prior to being declared a winner, each potential winner must first: (i) answer a mathematical skill-testing question; (ii) if required, complete and sign a declaration of compliance with these Official Rules and a liability and publicity release (The “Promotion releases”) and (iii) be in compliance with Official Rules.

    Waiver:

    I hereby voluntarily agree to participate in the "Step Up for Ostomy" event, organized by Ostomy Canada Society Inc. In consideration of being permitted to participate in this event, I acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions:

    Assumption of Risk: I am aware that participating in the "Step Up for Ostomy" event involves inherent risks and dangers, including but not limited to physical injuries, property damage, and other unforeseen risks. I voluntarily assume all such risks and accept full responsibility for any injuries, damages, or losses that may occur as a result of my participation.

    Health and Medical Condition: I affirm that I am in good health and have no medical conditions or physical limitations that would prevent me from safely participating in the event. I understand that it is my responsibility to consult with a medical professional before engaging in any physically demanding activities during the "Step Up for Ostomy" event.

    Release of Liability: In consideration of being allowed to participate in the "Step Up for Ostomy" event, I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Ostomy Canada Society Inc. its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, agents, and sponsors from any and all claims, liabilities, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, injury, or damage, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, during my participation in the event.

    Media Release: I grant the event organizer the right to use photographs, videos, or other media recordings taken during the "Step Up for Ostomy" event, in which I may appear, for promotional and marketing purposes without any compensation.

    Compliance with Rules: I agree to abide by all the rules, regulations, and instructions provided by the event organizer throughout the "Step Up for Ostomy" event.

    Legal Age and Consent: I hereby represent that I am of legal age in my jurisdiction and have the legal capacity to enter into this waiver agreement. If I am under 18 years old, I acknowledge that my parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to this waiver on my behalf.

    I have read and understood this event participation waiver, and I voluntarily sign it as my own free act and deed. I acknowledge that I have had the opportunity to seek legal counsel before signing, but I waive this right. By signing below, I acknowledge that I have carefully read and fully understand the contents of this waiver and agree to be bound by its terms.
